I have used CS2 for years without issue. I tried to load CS2 from disk and could not register it. I contacted the help folks and they stated that I need to download CS2 since the activation of my disks is unsupported. I dowloaded the files and ran install. During the install I was asked for a serial number. I entered my original SN and the download SN and get an error message that the SN is incorrect. Suggestions?

I used the SN from the download page and got the error message. I tried the number with and without hyphens.

what do you mean you tried with and without hyphens?
the typical adobe licensing screen shows 6 boxes each of which takes 4 numbers. you should be using the 24 digit number from the end-of-life page. no hyphens should be in any of the 6 fields.

The window is titled "Adobe Photoshop CS2-Setup"
It asks for User Name, Organization and SN. The SN field is a single window not six boxes.

my memory fails again. it's been a long time since adobe did that.
anyway, you should be able to copy and paste that serial number with the hyphens. just make sure there's not white space at the start or end of the serial number.
also, double check that you're using the correct number for the correct product. there are a number of products and they each have a different serial number.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried manually typing it and cut and pasting it. No joy.
The Serial Number is: 1130-1414-7569-4457-6613-5551

so, you're downloading the cs2 package of programs (Creative Suite 2) for windows.
you must download all three exe files.
you must click or double click all three exe files.
you must then manually move the extracted files to one folder. ie, move the disc2 extracted files to the folder where disc1 files extracted. and move the disc3 extraced files to the folder where disc1 files extracted.
you should now have all the extracted files from the 3 exe's in one folder.
click setup.

All three exe files were downloaded and extracted to the same folder. What you are implying is that something went wrong during the install. I'll do an uninstall and try again.
If they supported the disk activation that was purchased, it would be a whole lot simpler. I know CS2 is old, but it works well.
I'll report back.

confirm your disc exe file sizes: disc1.exe ~ 358mb, disc2.exe ~408mb and disc3.exe ~330mb.
