Magnolia Table Recipe Series
The Magnolia Table cookbooks are amazing. And I am having a lot of fun sharing their recipes. I adore Joanna Gaines and think she is an amazing talent. Last year I shared the Zucchini Squash Strata Recipe and decided to expand on that and do several four part series! This is my second recipe of four for the winter series! And I think this one you and your family will love!

Keyword easy dinner recipe, magnolia table, Orecchiette pancetta
Prep Time 20 minutes minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes minutes
Total Time 50 minutes minutes
Servings 6 servings
Ingredients
- 1 lb Orecchiette Pasta
- 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 4 ounces Pancetta or Bacon, Diced *I used thick cute bacon and used 8 ounces
- 1 medium Shallot, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp Minced Garlic *original recipe called for 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 3/4 cup Heavy Cream
- 8 ounces Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 1.5 cups Frozen Peas *original recipe suggested 1 cup
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Minced Chives
- Salt/Pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook the pasta according to the package. Drain and set aside when done.
In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of the butter over medium heat. Add the pancetta or bacon and cook until crispy. Stirring occasionally. Approximately 4-6 minutes. Add shallot and reduce heat. Saute until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and saute for another minute or until fragrant.
Drain grease from the pan and remove the bacon/pancetta mixture to a bowl.
Melt remaining 2 tbsp of butter in pan over medium-high heat until it starts to bubble. Whisk in chicken broth and cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium low. Add the Parmesan cheese and whisk until melted. Add the pancetta/bacon mixture, peas, lemon juice, chives salt and pepper. Whisk until the sauce begins to thicken, about 3 minutes.
Add the drained pasta to the pan and toss to coat.
Garnish with extra minced chives and shredded Parmesan cheese! Then enjoy!
Conclusion
This concludes the second of my four part series on Magnolia Table recipes! I am so excited to share more and hope you enjoyed this Orecchiette Pancetta Recipe as much as we did! It is simple and tasty!

I love pancetta and my kids all love pasta. It would be nice to try a new pasta recipe for them other than the norm.

This looks like an amazing dish! I wonder, can this recipe could be adjusted to make it vegetarian-friendly?

That is an excellent question! I don’t know enough about vegetarian options! But I would think it could be done!
Kirsten
Just use veggie broth and no bacon should be fine 🙂
I’m all about veggies these days but bacon is welcome from time to time as a treat.

This sounds delicious! I know pasta is pasta but I really like Orecchiette in particular. And panchetta is something I love when ordering out but I don’t really use it at home. I’m saving this recipe to try.

I love Joanna Gaines collection at Target, but I didn’t realize she had cookbooks too, how fun! This recipe looks delicious. I love orecchiette, one of my favorite pasta shapes, and this preparation of it sounds so homey and tasty.

I have one question, I made it once and it turned out so good! The remaining times after that my sauce was broken and clumpy. I followed the recipe to a T! What am I doing wrong

Honestly, the only thing I can think is the Parmesan cheese wasn’t fully blended. I have made it several times and melting Parmesan is always a challenge (in my opinion) and tastes constant blending. I have nit made this in a couple months, I am going to have to do it and see if I come up with any other solutions!!!!

Are your ingredients cold or room temperature? When mixing cold and hot you tend to struggle try setting them out for a bit before making?

What would you serve with this meal?

A side salad. Or you can use it as the side dish for steak or chicken cutlets!
