Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:Receives specimens from all sources and correlates test ordering information with requisitions. Verifies correct patient identification and notes discrepancies (rejection criteria).
Processes, freezes, and stores hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC).
Participates in the thawing and transplant of these cells for patients.
Performs high complexity testing on both patient samples and HPC products.
This position is responsible for completing all paperwork with 100% accuracy. The staff member will perform Quality Control and Preventive Maintenance on equipment in the Cell Therapy Lab. The staff member is expected to follow all rules and regulations established by the Cell Therapy Lab to maintain compliance with FDA, FACT, and other accrediting agencies.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree and/including 60 completed semester hours of credit including at least: 24 hours in Medical Technology or science courses with a minimum of: 6 hours in Biology AND 6 hours in Chemistry. The remaining 12 hours may be from any science area.

Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory or clinical laboratory science
Previous clinical laboratory experience
